We are finalists in the BE Connected Awards in the Engagement App of the Year category for our work on The Battle for Kings Dominion. The awards will be held in January in London where we will participate in a Showroom Showdown; a one day event where judges and industry professionals can experience all of the finalist’s apps in action before making their decisions.
The BE Connected Awards celebrate the best of brand experience and engagement, recognising those who help connect brand journeys in real-time, from development of the bright idea to delivery for the end consumer.
We have been recognised for the creation of The Battle for Kings Dominion, an interactive gaming experience that launched in May 2017 at Kings Dominion, an amusement park in Doswell, Virginia, USA. Working alongside the park and its parent company, Cedar Fair, we developed the app to extend the park experience for guests by gamifying various elements of their visit.
Traditionally passive experiences such as waiting in a queue line have been transformed with Augmented Reality mini games and character engagements. These interactive elements are discovered as guests journey around the park.
The Battle for Kings Dominion adds another layer of narrative to the guest visit, gives them increased control over their experience and allows them to personalise their adventure. It can also be shared with a person’s wider community on social media.
