OptiRig Products

The OptiRig range of products, developed and manufactured by HoloVis, include optical-grade fold-mirror systems and precision projection rigs.

Our fold-mirror systems are used in a wide range of our standard products, including our Helios, Apollo and MediaWall solutions and are designed to ensure that, when using rear-projection technology, the final 'footprint' and space that is taken up by the projection solution is kept to an absolute minimum. This is achieved by 'folding' the light path from the projector using either single or double mirrors held in a special aluminium extrusion-based rig.

Our mirrors are usually made of glass (safety-backed) and have an optical-grade silver-coating on the front surface of the mirror to ensure no 'ghosting' of the light (as it would do with normal mirrors where the silver coating is on the back of the glass surface).

We can also supply Mylar-based mirrors when much larger projection setups are required, however these are made from a foil and can suffer from surface deformities (that can effect the final image) and 'rippling' if there is any air movement in the projection environment.

All our fold-mirror rigs and solutions are initially designed and proven in CAD packages to ensure the optimum setup of single or dual mirrors depending on the type of projector, lens and overall screen size required by the client.

We also design a range of OptiRigs that include our own OptiSlide technology that allows the physical projector to be securely mounted in the rig and then moved in multiple axes (using precision sliders with hand-operated turn-wheels) to allow very fine adjustment of the projector to ensure exact alignment and setup on the screen. OptiSlide solutions are usually required when multiple projector setups are needed and where twin-stacked projectors are overlaid on top of each other for passive-stereo 3D solutions (eg. Apollo range).
