Motion Tracking Systems

Usually required as part of our immersive 3D Apollo range of products and solutions, Motion Tracking technology is required to allow natural interaction with the immersive dataset or application through head and hand tracking.

The tracking sensor technology is combined as part of the total solution with the stereoscopic viewing technology (Active or Passive stereo glasses) and with the desired interaction devices, usually worn on the hands, such as DataGloves, Wands, Cybergloves, PinchGloves etc.

HoloVis has extensive experience in all of the currently available motion tracking technologies and has integrated each of them into various immersive display solutions over the past 10 years. To date the main technologies available are:

- Magnetic based tracking

- Camera based tracking

- Inertial & Ultrasonic based (Hybrid) tracking

 

Each of the available technologies have their own pros and cons, however HoloVis predominantly uses Camera-Based and Hybrid tracking solutions within their Apollo range of products depending on the type of display system being designed and the client's exact requirements.
